Hello!

I'm a PhD student working to ensure that technology promotes fairness and equity. My research focuses on identifying harms caused by algorithmic systems, like biases related to race, gender, and other demographic attributes. I aim to give reliable measurements of these harms, and beyond that, to show why they occur and how we can avoid them.

I studied statistics as an undergrad and began my data science career at a consulting firm, partnering with clients to drive better decisions through analytics. Nowadays my research relies on a variety of quantitative methods, from traditional statistics and causal inference to machine learning and newer NLP, CV, or speech processing techniques.

Outside of research, you can find me playing soccer, reading short stories, or making ice cream.
